Abstract

Production of AZ31 magnesium alloy round bars can be realized in hot rolling process. Application of modified stretching passes to the rolling process will allow obtaining bars which will characterised by more homogeneous microstructure in the cross‐section of bars in comparison to bars rolled in classical passes. As a result of applying a new strain scheme created by using the modified stretching passes it was possible to obtain bars with mechanical properties similar to the bars obtained in the extrusion process.
