Abstract

Goal. To analyze medical prescriptions in real practice in the treatment of children and adolescents with signs of osteopenia. Methods. A retrospective analysis of 44 medical records of patients aged 0 to 17 years, inclusive, with complaints characteristic of osteopenia, who were prescribed a 25(OH)D test. A content analysis of vitamin D preparations in the pharmaceutical market of the Russian Federation was carried out and the costs for 3 months of treatment were calculated. Results. 6 models of complex treatment of osteopenia in children and adolescents were formed, in relation to the diagnosis and the detected level of 25(OH)D. Each included vitamin D supplementation, a calcium-rich diet, and various physical therapy modalities. Treatment outcomes were monitored every 3 months based on X-ray data and blood 25(OH)D testing. It has been established that the cost of non-drug therapy is more than 80% of the total. The cost of paid treatment for various skel- etal deformities consists of the costs of medical services, non-drug and drug therapy and amounts to 25805.4 rubles. ± 488.1 rub. Conclusion. Real medical practice in the treatment of osteopenia in children and adolescents is based on current clinical algorithms and recommendations. The appointment of treatment is carried out not only on the basis of the diagnosis, but also the value of laboratory tests.
