Abstract

The lives of future generations are certainly inseparable from the lives of today's children. Therefore, children should not only be seen as passive creatures who receive it, but also as active creatures who are full of spontaneity for the future. One of the fundamental problems of Muslims today is the percentage of young Muslims who are unable to read the Koran. The results of observations on class V MIM Aursati students show that there are problems in reading the Al-Qur'an, namely students are not able to read the Al-Qur'an, cannot distinguish between long and short verses in the Al-Qur'an, and are not yet fluent in using the science of recitation. . The aim of this study is to determine the ability to read the Al-Qur'an based on the AshShafi'I method according to Tajwid Science in the Al-Qur'an Hadith subject of class V students at MIM Aursati, Kampar Regency. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. This study uses primary data obtained directly from MIM Aursati, while secondary data consists of documents, scientific articles and relevant books. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation studies. Next, the data is analyzed based on data reduction, data display, and drawing conclusions. The findings of the study show that the Asy-Shafi'i method in learning to read the Al-Qur'an was chosen because it is a method that prioritizes the careful application of tajwid knowledge, as well as helping class students understand and read the Al-Qur'an well according to the correct tajwid rules. . MIM Aursati's fifth grade students already have a fairly good understanding of the science of recitation. The results of the tests carried out showed that 5 students had the ability to read the Al-Qur'an well and correctly, 4 students were moderate, and 9 students did not have the ability to read the Al-Qur'an well.
