Abstract
The spectrum of caesium was photographed in the 300-1240 AA wavelength region on a 3 m normal incidence spectrograph. The earlier analysis of the 5s25p4-5s5p5 transition array of Cs IV was confirmed. The 5s25p4-(5s25p35d+5s25p36s) transition array has been investigated. 41 of 48 levels belonging to the 5s25p35d and 5s25p36s configurations have been established. One hundred and two additional lines have been classified in this spectrum. Configuration interaction calculations involving all three odd parity configurations have been carried out to satisfactorily interpret the observed spectrum.
