Abstract

F1exible DC transmission system plays an important role in new energy delivery and power system interconnection. This paper proposes a surplus power dissipation strategy for a flexible DC transmission system based on energy dissipation resistors. Aiming at the active power balance of the flexible DC transmission system, the traditional energy dissipation resistors at the DC side are divided into multiple modules that can be independently input and controlled, and the surplus power fed into the flexible DC transmission system by the converter station at the feed end is consumed. That is, the unbalanced power caused by the fault of the receiver on the AC side of the flexible DC transmission is consumed. The energy dissipation resistance on the DC side of the flexible DC transmission system is used to transplant the unbalanced power of the receiver grid, which can prevent the overcurrent accident caused by the fault of the communication system and achieve the purpose of power balance in the flexible DC transmission system. Keywords Flexible DC transmission system; HVDC system; style; energy dissipation resistance. The paper needs massive proof-reading. It is difficult to understand most of the explanations provided in the paper.
