Abstract

Modern MV electrical distribution networks are characterized by the presence of numerous distributed PV generators and other electronic equipment which produce voltage and current distortion in the kHz range. This so-called supraharmonic distortion propagates through the network and affects the operation of energy meters and communication lines. From this point of view it is important to develop the practical methods for the localization of main supraharmonic distortion sources in the network and the methods to determine the contributions of localized supraharmonic distortion sources into the common distortion in the supraharmonic range measured at the points of common coupling. Practical analysis of supraharmonic propagation in a real MV electrical network is presented in the paper.
