Abstract

The section of metal composite sheet is mechanically asymmetric, which makes the mechanical behavior of its bending process different from that of a single material metal sheet. In this paper, based on the theory of engineering elastic-plastic mechanics, the evolution path of elastic-plastic state of metal composite sheet section during bending process is established, and the section stress and bending moment are calculated. Mechanical parameters of typical steel/aluminum metal-laminate during bending process are analyzed. Analytical results show, there are five different elastic-plastic states in the bending process of metal composite sheet section, strain neutral layer deviates from the geometry neutral layer, new plastic deformation may occur in the springback process of steel/aluminum metal-laminate section.
