Abstract

This paper applies spatial interaction model theory to analyse the impact of transportation network infrastructure construction on the city. 36 cities in Chinese high-speed railways network and 72 cities in Chinese highway networks are selected, and the interactive vitality of cities is calculated and analysed from the perspective of the two networks. The spatial interaction vitality of some cities on two networks is different. Cities like Beijing, Shanghai and Zhengzhou perform well on both networks, while the remote areas such as Kuerle and Lasa has low values, indicating the urban spatial interaction vitality is related to the construction of transportation network infrastructure and is consistent with the actual situation.
