Abstract
Supposing the slip plane of slope as a straight line , the paper derives the critical height and the critical angle of the slope by limiting balance method , then defines the position of unsafe slip plane and the critical angle of safe slope . All the results are showed through analysis method , which offers reliable theory in the analysis and design of slope stability .
