Abstract

A rational approach to slope stability and landslide analysis in seismic regions is presented in this chapter. The main goal of the research work was to develop a modified method for stability analysis that allows strain conditions of slope or borders of the ditches to be considered in exploitation. The focus of the research was to investigate comprehensively the mechanical and physical properties of soil by using modified laboratory equipment. Some aspects of the use of modified shear test equipment are described here. The effectiveness of the proposed design method to landslide and retaining structures is also presented in the chapter.
