Abstract

This study analyzed the analysis and design criteria of hollow-core Bragg fibers for applications in communications system. It is found that the single-mode Bragg fiber used in communications system is achieved by using low index claddings. Bragg fibers are proved to exhibit much lower loss than conventional silicon fiber and can be made at relatively large core diameters.
