Abstract

AbstractObjective. To explore the feasibility of a single disease payment method through analyzing the payment for surgery of single nodular goiter in reducing the hospitalization expenses. Method. The cases of single disease nodular goiter surgeries are selected and the comparative analysis of hospitalization expenses before and after an experimental implementation of single disease payment is carried out. Result. The application of the single disease payment management mode can effectively control and reduce the hospitalization expenses of this disease; the average total expense of the patients discharged after nodular goiter surgeries decreases from 7,131.83 Yuan to 4,870.83 Yuan after the experimental implementation of single disease payment, lower by 31.7%. Conclusion. For the common diseases and high-cost diseases, the single disease payment management mode should be gradually popularized, which can reduce the burden on patients; the more reasonable payment models should be further explored.
