Abstract

In this paper, we analyze systems consisting of a series of  service facilities in fuzzy environments. These are a special class of queueing systems called series queues. We use quadratic fuzzy numbers to model fuzziness in the parameters of such systems, namely the arrival rate and the service rates of the  servers. We propose a solution procedure that uses the DSW algorithm to arrive at the fuzzy system characteristics of the queueing system. Finally, we present a numerical example to illustrate the solution procedure.
