Abstract

Scattering characteristics of metallic strip grating sandwiched between multi- top and bottom uniform dielectric layers in the case of plane-wave oblique incidence are carefully investigated by a new method which combines coordinate revolving theory with the rigorous mode matching method. Comparisons between the rigorous methods like spectral domain method are given which verify the efficiency of our method. A new circular polarizer are also proposed. It is indicated that pure circular polarization can be realized even in every frequencies by change the structure parameters of dielectric uniform layers which greatly overstep the limitation of single strip which can realized circular polarization only in fixed frequency. The researches in this paper have some useful guidelines for accurate designing frequency selective surface and circular polarizer.
