Abstract

YMnO3 manganite is one of the most extensively studied multiferroic material and has several application perspectives such as in storage devices and many more. In the present work, the bulk form of YMnO3 has been synthesized using the conventional solid-state reaction route method and its structural, optical & electrical measurements have been carried out. The powder XRD pattern of the prepared sample confirmed the successful formation of the hexagonal crystal structure of the material with P63cm space group symmetry. The diffused reflectance spectroscopy analysis was employed to determine the optical bandgap of the prepared sample and that comes out to be 1.53 eV respectively. FTIR spectroscopy of the sample was done to get details about the phase composition. The electrical measurement of the prepared sample revealed the room temperature dielectric constant variation with the frequency which is usual dielectric dispersion behavior and shows a high value of dielectric constant at lower frequency regions ascribed to space charge polarization.
