Abstract

Objective To investigate the risk factors of recurrence of choledocholithiasis after the operation of choledocholithiasis. Methods The clinical and follow-up data of 180 patients with choledocholithiasis treated by surgery were analyzed, including 28 cases in the recurrent group and 152 cases in the control group. The risk factors of recurrence of choledocholithiasis were analyzed by single factor analysis and Logistic multifactor analysis. Results Single factor analysis showed that age (χ2=6.310, P=0.012), common bile duct diameter (χ2=5.589, P=0.018), stone number (χ2=4.697, P=0.030), cholangitis (χ2=11.119, P=0.000), periampullary diverticulum (χ2=4.798, P=0.028), choledochal stenosis (χ2=5.347, P=0.021), stone diameter (χ2=7.434, P=0.006) and jaundice (χ2=4.281, P=0.039) were correlated with recurrent choledocholithiasis. Logistic regression analysis showed that age ≥60 years old [odds ratio (OR)=2.115, P=0.048], common bile duct diameter ≥15 mm (OR=2.539, P=0.019), the number of stones≥10 (OR=2.782, P=0.000), cholangitis (OR=2.687, P=0.021), periampullary diverticulum (OR=1.872, P=0.034), common bile duct stenosis (OR=2.498, P=0.037), the stone diameter ≥10 mm (OR=2.689, P=0.027), jaundice (OR=2.135, P=0.041) were independent risk factors for recurrence of choledocholithiasis. Conclusion There are many risk factors for postoperative recurrence of choledocholithiasis. In the specific treatment, the individual treatment should be combined with the patient and the preventive measures should be strengthened so as to reduce the postoperative recurrence rate. Key words: Choledocholithiasis; Recurrence; Risk factors
