Abstract
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to review the dissolving microneedle patches literature, which is loaded with pharmacopuncture preparation. By exploring types of pharmacopuncture preparation applied to microneedle patches, we aim to develop new potential preparation.Methods: This review included both animal and human studies that published between February 2015 and March 2024. After searching, no RCTs were found, the final selected in-vivo and in-vitro studies were analyzed. A total of 13 articles were retrieved from the international database, and a total of 5 articles were retrieved from the domestic database. Finally, 7 studies were selected, and evaluated by the published year, country of publication, types of animal model, disease type, retention type, evaluation index, adverse effects.Conclusions: According to 7 studies, pharmacopuncture preparation coated dissolving microneedle patch include bee venom, placenta, and ginseng in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, hypertrophic scar, psoriasis, and neurodegeneration. In the future, follow-up studies on the safety, retention time, and optimal effective dose of the microneedle patches are expected.
