Abstract

In order to explore the spatial evolution characteristics and change trends of regional development differences between eastern and western regions in the context of high-quality development, this paper estimates the economic density, with its coefficient of variation and relative development rate of Zhejiang and Shaanxi provinces from 1997 to 2017. The difference of economic density is used to investigate the land use efficiency and economic concentration degree in different areas, and the index of Variation Coefficient is used to analyze the relative dispersion degree of economic data in the East and west of China. Relative growth rate (Nich) is used to measure the growth rate of economic density relative to different regions in a given period of time. Through the analysis of the above statistical index calculation results, this paper further discusses the influencing factors and formation mechanism of the economic development gap between Zhejiang and Shaanxi provinces. The research shows that: The economic density of Zhejiang and Shaanxi provinces shows an increasing trend, the differences between provinces are obvious, and the economic development level and development speed of different cities in the province are quite different. The regional development differences between Zhejiang and Shaanxi provinces are mainly Influenced by institutional constraints, government behavior, economic structure and economic types, regional cultural psychology and other interpersonal differences. Further deepening market economic reforms, developing mixed ownership economies, and creating a good business environment will help promote regional coordinated and high-quality development of China.
