Abstract

Aim: In this study; it is aimed to examine the physical activity levels in elderly individuals according to some variables. Method:112 volunteers over 65 years of age living in the province of Isparta participated in the sampling method. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) was used to determine the level of physical activity in the study. 'Independent t Test' and 'Anova' tests were used to compare the variables that determine physical activity level and the answers based on the variables obtained from demographic questions. In addition, 'Pearson Correlation' test was applied to examine the relation between continuous variables. Findings:The total MET score of the women participating in the survey according to the analyzes made; 1109,7 ± 1076,8, while men were found to be 1682,3 ± 1888,8. Male physical activity levels were found to be higher, weight gain increased BMI and, total MET score increased as age decreased, sport as the time of the day increased, BMI and total MET scores increased. Result: It was determined that the research group had no effect on marital status, smoking, alcohol drinking, occupational status, income status, educational status, nutritional preference and MET values of BMI classes.
