Abstract

IT has been emphasized by Hartman1 that the computation of diglycerides and triglycerides in technical monoglyceride mixtures merely from the free hydroxyl content and amount of monoglyceride (both 1- and 2-forms) is liable to serious error. He suggested that a direct estimation of mono-, di-, and tri-glycerides was required particularly in view of the anomalies which appear to arise in attempting to assign a random distribution to the results.
