Objective To analyze the organ dysfunction in neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) children and its influence on prognosis, and provide scientific basis for clinical treatment and prevention. Methods The medical records of 72 cases were analyzed from May 2010 to March 2012, the number of organ dysfunction in children with HIE, survival condition and prognosis of survival children were compared in different degree HIE children. Results Different degrees of neonatal HIE had statistical difference on the situation of organ dysfunction (P 0.05), while different degrees of neonatal HIE had statistical difference on fatality rate of multiple organ dysfunction (P<0.05), the fatality of severe children with HIE concurrent with organ dysfunction was higher. The prognosis of 33 alive children were related with their conditions. Conclusions The degrees of neonatal HIE can significantly affect its organ dysfunction and prognosis, the prevention of neonatal HIE concurrent with organ dysfunction should be strengthened.
