Abstract

Before a complete analysis can be made of the radial transport of mass and energy in the presence of magnetic fields, the nonlinear diffusion of mass and energy across magnetic fields must be well understood. ' In pursuit of this goal, this paper is concerned with a mathematical analysis of a simple model of slow diffusive selfrelaxation of a magnetically confined plasma.
