Abstract

For the non-conforming contact problem of spur and helical gear pair, the total deformation of gear pair is usually separated into a linear global term and a nonlinear local term. To calculate the local contact deformation, the Hertz solution is widely used while lubrication is ignored. In order to account for the effect of elastohydrodynamic lubrication, the local contact deformation of helical gear pair is calculated on the basis of multilevel multi-integration method in this work. Through comparison with results obtained by analytical method and general numerical integration method, the effectiveness of the presented method is verified and it lays foundation for further analysis of transmission error of gear pair.
