Abstract

Introduction: the prevalence of mineral and bone disorders in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis is essential to understand and address the metabolic imbalances associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD). Regular monitoring of parathyroid hormone, alkaline phosphatase, calcium, and phosphorus levels plays a crucial role in identifying and treating these alterations. Objective: To analyze the prevalence of mineral and bone disorders in patients with chronic kidney disease receiving treatment at a specialized peritoneal dialysis service in the Federal District. Method: Retrospective, quantitative analytical study. Data collection was performed from both physical and electronic medical records. The study included 44 male patients aged 60 years or older with hypertension. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 23.0 software was used for statistical analysis. Conclusion: Maleindividuals over 60 years of age with comorbidities and low educational attainment represent a high-risk group with a greater likelihood of poor treatment adherence.
