Abstract

In order to verify the rationality and safety of the bracket system for prestressed concrete continuous box girder bridge by cantilever construction, 3 stress calculations of the bracket system at upper chord, slant beam, and weld are conducted. Based on MIDAS/Civil software, the finite element model of the bracket system is established, and the study of the mechanical behavior of the bracket system is carried out. The numerical simulation of the bracket system is performed, and the influence of load coefficients, weld parameters, and construction conditions on the mechanical behavior of the bracket system is discussed. The results show that when a 10mm fillet weld all around as the construction method is selected, the strength of the weld can be met. The requirements of the strength and stability of the bracket system are satisfied in the construction stage, which proves the rationality and safety of the structure. It can be concluded that this kind of bracket system can provide technical support for popularization and application in practical engineering.
