Abstract

Honing is a machining process in which abrasive particles are used for finishing purpose, it is used specifically for internal finishing of cylinder of internal combustion engine. The non-conventional manufacturing process has been used for mass finishing of products where ultra-smooth surface is paramount. In present research work, three independent variables i.e. work piece rotation, magnetic flux density and process duration were varied in a selected range and their effect was realized in terms of percentage change in material removal rate. Regression and Genetic algorithm are used to formulate an objective function and to find best fitness function.
