Abstract

Thymomas are tumors originated from the epithelial component of the thymus. This definition according to Rosai and Levine (1) excludes germ cell tumors, malignant lymphomas and neuroendocrine tumors (carcinoids and small cell carninoma). Thymomas are heterogeneous with regard to size, epithelial cell type and the ratio of lymphocyte to epithelial cells (1–3).
