Abstract

The hyperfragments ΛH 3 and ΛH 4 are analysed on the separable potential model. The interaction strength parameters in the singlet and triplet states of Λ−N interaction ( λ ΛN s and λ ΛN t) are obtained from the binding energy data of ΛH 3 and ΛH 4, respectively. It is found that λ ΛN t is less than λ λN max only on the assumption of a Λ+d+N structure for the λH 4 system. The total cross sections for Λ−N scattering calculated from these parameters λ ΛN s and λ ΛN t are in reasonable agreement with the available experimental data.
