Abstract

This paper describes the effect of a laser intensity noise on an electro-optic (EO) sensor system with a differential detection. We assume that the laser intensity noise is modulated by the EO sensor, and the modulated laser intensity noise should be examined precisely by using a polarization simulator based on the Jones vector. From the simulation results, it was confirmed that the modulated laser intensity noise remained after the differential detection. A signal-to-noise-ratio (SNR) needs to consider the modulated laser intensity noise.
