Abstract

Informatization is an important strategic move for China's modernization. e-Science can be understood as the informatization in the scientific research. e-Science can change the environment, method and pattern of the scientific research, which will effectively improve the management, capability, process and output of the research, and promote the development of the science research eventually. This paper analyses the IT governance system and practices in internationally renowned scientific research institutes. Considering the informatization needs of different disciplines in China, a proposal is made for Chinese scientific research institutes from three aspects: the informatization promotion mechanism and department division, the close integration of e-Science and scientific research, and the training and retention of informatization talents.
