Abstract

Integrated coastal zones management is a process that seeks to improve the quality of life in coastal communities based on the use of natural resources while respecting ecosystems and biodiversity. This study takes the laws and regulations that were considered most important and the articles of each one that are considered most appropriate for coastal management, in accordance with the national legal and institutional framework applicable to the management and management of marine and coastal resources of Guatemala. . The role of the institutions that are essential for the iczm process is made known. Finally, training and information strategies and the importance of citizen participation are analyzed.
