Abstract

The paper provides a review of the secondary literature published in Russian journals on the development of advanced technologies with respect to the existing institutional barriers and innovation environments. In total, fifteen most prominent articles are reviewed. They form the following three sections: (1) Institutional Environments and Barriers to Advanced Technology; (2) Education Systems and Venture Financing for the Development of Advanced Technologies in Russia; (3) Business Enterprises in New Institutional Environments. The paper is part of the series on the current state of knowledge in Russian scholarship on industry competitiveness.
