Abstract

This work develops a torsional vibration model with lumped-parameter method and uses it to investigate the torsional vibration characteristics of double planetary transmission system. The natural frequency of torsional vibration and corresponding modes of the transmission system are obtained by solving the vibration differential equation. And then influence of rotational inertia and torsional stiffness on the natural characteristics of torsional vibration of the system is studied. The results show that the natural frequencies of torsional vibration can be improved effectively by increasing the torsional stiffness and reducing the rotational inertia of system under the condition that the total transmission ratio and the dimensional parameters of the gear pairs are constant at all levels.
