Abstract

To analyze the performance for pavement and its influencing factors of sandstone asphalt mixture, eight kinds of asphalt mixture combination plans were designed to discuss the influences of various coarse aggregate, fine aggregate and different types of anti-stripping agents on road performance. The rutting test, beam bending test, immersion Marshall test and freeze-thaw splitting test were conducted on these samples. The results indicate that the performances of sandstone asphalt mixture can be improved by replacing coarse aggregate with sandstone and then appropriately increasing the amount of mineral filler, adding cement, slaked lime and anti-stripping agent. Moreover, the high temperature and low temperature performance is significantly enhanced than that of pure limestone mixture; The water stability can be improved by adding slurred lime, cement and anti-strapping agent, but there is no significant difference between Marshall test and freeze-thaw splitting test. As for fine aggregate, there is no significant difference between white limestone and cyan limestone.
