Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the influencing factors for TCP throughput so as to provide evidence for optimizing TCP performance. The basis simulation model was established in NS2. The TCP behaviors were analyzed from the four aspects such as background traffic, queue scheduling algorithm, round-trip delay and packet length, and imitated by adjusting the simulation model parameters. Then the indicators such as TCP throughput, UDP throughput and packet loss rate were got in the test, which prove the influence of various factors on TCP throughput. The results show that: UDP flood inhibits TCP throughput severely; the scheduling algorithms considering the fairness can provide protection for TCP throughput; TCP throughput is inversely proportional to the round-trip delay and proportional to packet length.
