Abstract

With the large-scale grid-connection of wind turbines, it is of great significance to study the influence of the grid-connection of wind turbines on the system short-circuit capacity. In this paper, the different positions of short-circuit faults are considered, and the short-circuit currents of the double-fed induction generator (DFIG) and the permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) in the event of a short-circuit fault are analyzed. As a result, the expression and influencing factors of the short-circuit current of two different types of wind turbines at the time of failure are obtained. Meanwhile, the simulation results show that different types of wind turbines of the same capacity have different effects on the short-circuit capacity of the system, and the operation of the low-voltage through-protection device of the wind turbines also has a large impact on the short-circuit capacity of the system.
