Abstract

IgE ImmunoCAP levels are often above detection limit (>100 IU/mL). Actual IgE levels are determined by re-assay with diluted sera. For most allergens including those specific to food-induced immediate anaphylaxis, consistent, calculated results are obtained across the range of dilutions. By contrast, diluted sera of patients with certain food allergy (FA) syndromes, when assayed, do not yield the predicted results.
