Abstract
The low salinity and high sediment content exist in the inshore shallow sea area, moreover the distributions of sediment content are non-uniform. High Frequency (HF) radio waves can propagate in the area within a certain penetration. For collecting data such as seabed topography, salinity and sediment, HF radio waves propagation is analyzed in shallow water near shore with inhomogeneous dielectrics. The analyzing results are exploited to real-time collect the water depth, salinity, sediment content and other data during whole weather situation. Firstly, wave propagation theory in the environment is derived. The relevant parameters: such as depth, conductivity, dielectric constant are set according to the environmental characteristics of shallow coast. Then the layered model of different dielectrics is established. The HF electromagnetic wave propagation is simulated. Finally, we obtain the corresponding distribution of the magnetic field in different directions. The corresponding conclusions are provided by comparing the simulation results.
