Abstract
Available procedures for separating glucose-C 14 from its metabolites in the whole animal require a number of time-consuming steps (e.g., deionization, evaporation, derivative formation), some of which are associated with appreciable losses of material. These steps may be circumvented by using the thin-layer chromatographic, colorimetric, and radioisotopic procedures which are described in the present paper.
