Abstract

The known formulas intended for the computation of central demagnetization coefficient N┴ of hollow ferromagnetic cylinders under magnetization across the generatrix has been analyzed. It has been shown that they do not permit physically correct results to be obtained in the possible range of size variations for hollow cylinders. A formula permitting the calculation of N┴ in the full range of size variations for hollow cylinders has been suggested. This formula has been physically grounded and verified experimentally.
