Abstract

Kirchhoff's theory is adopted in the analysis of the focal field of a small F-number imaging system at millimeter wavelength. Numerical results are presented to describe the field distribution in the focal space of the imaging system. Vector property of the diffracted field is also stated. To verify the validity of the method, the numerical results obtained from this method are compared with the results calculated by using Stratton-Chu vector diffraction formula, and the experimental results.
