Abstract

Experimental data from kinetics investigations may be analyzed using Microsoft Excel Solver. The procedure provides an attractive means of introducing the principles of nonlinear data analysis to students and overcomes difficulties associated with both conventional and time-lag approaches. Students can determine the standard error in Solver-determined regression parameters and the square of the correlation coefficient, R2, using a procedure that does not necessitate the repeated application of Solver.
