Abstract
Multi-Wavelength Fiber Optic Parametric Oscillator (MW-FOPO) with ring-cavity using Mach-Zehnder Interferometer (MZI) is proposed. In this system, we utilize a Highly Non-Linear Dispersion Shifted Fiber (HNL-DSF) as a gain medium and a Mach-Zehnder interferometer as filter. The Continuous wave laser with low input power produces high output power of 3W at EDFA. Multi-Wavelength FOPO with ripple factor of less than 4.8 and wavelength spacing of about 0.04 nm in the range of 1540 nm–1560 nm is demonstrated. LiNbO 3 Mach-Zehnder Modulators (MZM) are used to suppress the maximum side-bands. A Central Wavelength Division Multiplexer (CWDM) suppresses the Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) from the HP-EDFA within the transmission band of the CWDM and couples the two pump lights into a segment of 500-m HNL-DSF. The difference between the central wavelength of CWDM and the ZDW of the HNL DSF will reflect on the output of the proposed double-pumped MW-FOPO. Pulse Broadening is obtained using the Non-linear properties of the fiber. This delay produces different wavelength spacing at the output.
