Abstract
The Connecting rod transmits the piston load to the crank causing the latter to turn, thus converting the reciprocating motion of the piston into a rotary motion of the crankshaft. Connecting rods are subjected to forces generated by mass and fuel combustion. Connecting rod is modeled using CATIA software and FE analysis is carried out using ANSYS Software. Load distribution plays important role in fatigue life of the structure. Bush failure changes the loading direction and distribution. Present study is concentrated around the fatigue life due to concentrated load and cosine type load distribution on the bigger end
