Abstract

Objective The factors influencing work and life quality of the nurses in a tumor hospital were explored and their interaction was analyzed. Methods From March to July in 2015, 1 003 nurses were surveyed with the general information questionnaire, the quality of nursing work life scale, the work engagement scale, the general self-efficacy scale and the nursing work environment scale. Path analysis of the investigation result was made. Results The mean score for work life quality of nurses in a tumor hospital was (152.48±20.05). Self-efficacy and nursing work environment could directly affect work life quality of nurses in a tumor hospital(Path analysis coefficient respectively were 0.34, 0.29); they could also indirectly influenced work life quality via work engagement(Path analysis coefficient respectively were 0.17, 0.23). Work engagement could directly affect work life quality of nurses in a tumor hospital(Path analysis coefficient was 0.66). Conclusions Work life quality of nurses in tumor hospitals needs improving. Nurses′ work environment, work engagement, and self-efficacy are the factors influencing work life quality of nurses in tumor hospitals.
