Abstract

With the cost reducing and efficiency increasing background in the oil and gas industry, due to the huge cost advantage, the application of acoustic emission detection technology in storage tank bottom corrosion has gradually expanded. Firstly, the reason of tank bottom corrosion and the influencing factors of bottom plate corrosion detection is introduced in this paper. The different media components are experimentally compared to analyze the acoustic emission characteristics of different media, and the effect of pH on corrosion and the effect of acoustic emission detection are also discussed. Secondly, the impact of distribution distance and height of the acoustic emission sensor are analyzed through the relevant experiments. Finally, other factors that affect the acoustic emission system are briefly introduced. According to the related research, the attention matters in acoustic emission testing is summarized and discussed, which will help the engineer to understand a more particular knowledge of the acoustic emission testing.
