Abstract
The aim of this paper is to propose the method for analyzing the slope response to rainfallinfiltration during the extreme rainfall in a mountainous area by combining Green -Ampt infiltration modeland infinite slope analysis model. The Green-Ampt infiltration model is used to calculate cumulativeinfiltration into the soil slope. The infinite slope analysis model is chosen to represent the shallow soil slopefailure and the simplified first order second moment (SFOSM) is used to calculate the probability of failure.The reliability of the proposed model is validated using three landslide history cases in southern Thailand.Considering the result of calculation, it was found that the proposed model can be used the estimating the soilslope failure occurrence time.
