Abstract

When measuring the coefficient of longitudinal mixing during single-phase flow in a pilot-scale asymmetric rotating disc (ARD) extractor, tailing of the response curves was observed for non-stationary injection methods. A simple method is suggested for correcting the ends of response curves distorted by this tailing. The longitudinal mixing values processed in this way were found to be in good agreement with the relationships found earlier for this column type. The method of injection into the stationary liquid however allows the fitting of the correlation parameter with the standard deviation smaller by one order of magnitude.
