Analysis of existing smart crossroads and a new approach of smart crossroad

Abstract

The number of vehicles is increasing significantly all over the world, especially in large urban areas. The resulting congestion has become a key issue and new research topic for transport professionals and decision makers. This study took into account current solutions for smart intersections, traffic lights, as well as an analysis of existing methods and the introduction of new innovative approaches to improve traffic at intersections. This article describes several solutions for smart intersections from around the world, about the unique capabilities of these solutions, a comparison with and without integration of smart intersections, and also describes a method to improve traffic at intersections using artificial intelligence.
