Abstract

The increasing demand for energy in the recent years due to the modern life requirements engages the researchers to study and evaluate the performance of the gas turbine power plants under the first and the second law of thermodynamic as a mean for energy saving. The energy and exergy losses of gas stations are represented by the compressor, the combustion chamber, and the turbine. Therefore, this work aims to analyze the energy and the exergy of a 55 MW Taza gas power station. The investigation has demonstrated that the most significant misfortunes of exergy have happened in the combustion chamber by 66.5 MW and the minimum has happened in the compressor by 5 MW while the misfortunes in the turbine have been be 8.4 MW. The thermal efficiency of the gas turbine power plant has been 33.06% and the exergy efficiency 32.39%. The novelty of this work is concentrated on obtaining the Grassmann graph for each component.
